A new imaging technology utilizing optical coherence tomography (OCT) and dynamic cell imaging (DCI) enables real-time tissue evaluation during procedures, significantly reducing reliance on traditional pathology. By providing immediate feedback on tissue quality and potential lesions, it speeds up diagnosis while maintaining over 95% concordance with final pathology results. The system allows virtual slicing of tissue samples for deeper analysis without physical alteration, streamlining workflow and enhancing procedural efficiency.
Initial trials with 30 cases demonstrated a processing time reduction from 17 to 30 minutes, improving efficiency and reliability. Pathologists provided positive feedback on image quality, confirming the system’s accuracy across diverse clinical settings. With minimal staff training required, this innovation offers a faster, more effective approach to tissue analysis in real-time.
